Thanks guys... It is about 1/8 inch thick...even the bottom... I spalted the wood myself and caught it before it got soft.

Did you buy the fungi, or just go with the old fashioned method of leaving the timber outside and let nature run its course?
The lidded boxes look great, the finish still looks like wood(that is good in my book), and the finger/finial is functionally appealing! Well done!!

I stood it on end in the dirt & flipped it every few weeks for around 4 months then put it up on top the wood pile for about the same.... Then I cut & waxed it for dry storage.
