Does it work kinda like a gas operated reciprocating saw?

Exactly how it works John. I kinda/sorta had to laugh at this tonight cause I found a fellow in Fort Macmurray that wanted old chainsaws so I emailed him. Sold the damb thing for $350 and I only paid $50. It was slower than a chainsaw but I think would have been very useful in building barns with beams as it held a truer line than a regular chain saw.

It's a neat looking saw and I can see where it could come in handy at times.
