i will be taking orders for the carbide cutter that i make starting immediately but won,t start to make them until September 7,allow 1 to 2 weeks to be built and shipped to your door,i will be making the cutters in the order i received them.i don,t do this for a living and thats why the allowance time could be 2 weeks at most.the cutters tool shank is made out of 303 stainless steel with a high quality indexable Kennametal carbide insert that can outlast your high speed cutters 20 to 1 depending on how you regulate your lathe speed.the picture of the cutter has a knurled delrin handle shown.i can make it out of any material you like but the cost could be more depending on what material you choose.i only have 1 cutter made to my credit so far and John from NY has it,if you like to know how it works for him ,i don,t think he would mind sharing his opinion of how it works for him . also i offer free grinding of the orignal insert that came with the tool ,you pay the shipping.i will be posting more of a breakdown on cost of extra carbide inserts, handle options etc, at a later date.the cost of the cutter is $65.00 including shipping. Nobody has to PM me. I'll post it here. I have the first one Jeff made. I can't think of the words to tell you what a nice guy he is. I don't want to give him a swelled head but he is a real nice guy and he knows his stuff.
The chisel he sent me works great. I have been using it strictly on antler and have made a bunch of calls with it already. It is as sharp today as it was turning the first piece. It even works great and cuts like butter when I decide to turn the burr off an antler. If you need any other info just ask.
Thank you Jeff for making a super chisel and letting me be the test pilot. The antlers are turning easier than ever.
